Finally weaving

In October I took a Shadow Weave workshop with Sarah Fortin.  I put on a very long warp as this was a round-robin and I wanted to be sure there was enough for all the participants to weave a substantial sample for themselves.  I was VERY generous and when it was all over and I’d woven my own sample I still had yards left.

I don’t like waste so I chose one of the patterns from my sample and started to weave it.

I got busy with Christmas gift knitting as well as knitting socks to sell and the loom sat idle.  Finally this week I’ve had a chance to weave.  I hope to finish this warp in a day or so as I’ve got a commission and need the loom.

Notice how the alternation of the light/dark threads emphasizes the pattern.
